Job Summary/Description:

Alaska's News Source seeks a skilled fill-in broadcast News Anchor who has a proven record of on-camera broadcast experience. The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills. This is a high-profile position in our statewide community and our newsroom, which demands leadership and initiative. We are looking for a proven and experienced anchor who is available for part-time on-call work as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Anchor all newscasts (Morning, Evening, and Weekend) as needed on-call
* Work closely with newscast producers and Executive Producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcasts are clear, compelling, and consistent
* Build local contacts and relationships
* Participate in station visits and promotional initiatives
* Excellent news judgment
* Must be able to communicate with the audience with ease during breaking news, while making sound, split-second decisions during live broadcasts

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Minimum of 3+ years experience as a broadcast Anchor
* Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Commitment to excellence and ability to excel on an award-winning news team
* Clear understanding of and adherence to journalistic ethics
