Responsibilities
Strategy & SME Leadership
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for SEO and GEO, guiding cross-functional teams and external partners on best practices, trends, and innovations.
- Develop and execute comprehensive SEO and GEO strategies tailored to our Gift Card eCommerce platforms.
- Advocate for organic visibility across all digital touchpoints, ensuring SEO and GEO are embedded in product, content, and marketing roadmaps.
- Educate internal stakeholders on the evolving landscape of generative search and AI-driven discovery.
Execution & Optimization
- Conduct keyword, entity, and topical research to inform both traditional SEO and GEO content strategies.
- Optimize website architecture, meta data, structured data, and internal linking to support both crawling and semantic understanding.
- Lead technical SEO audits and collaborate with product and engineering teams to implement enhancements.
- Drive on-page and off-page SEO initiatives, including link-building and influencer outreach.
- Implement and maintain structured data (Schema.org) to improve visibility in rich results and generative summaries.
Content Strategy & Guidance
- Partner with content creators to produce high-quality, search-optimized content that aligns with user intent and business goals.
- Ensure content is optimized for both traditional search engines and generative platforms through entity-based optimization and semantic markup.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor performance using tools like GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and emerging GEO platforms.
- Build dashboards and reports to track rankings, traffic, and visibility across search and generative engines.
- Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations based on data analysis.
Continuous Innovation
- Stay ahead of SEO and GEO trends, algorithm updates, and emerging technologies.
- Test and iterate on strategies to maintain competitive advantage in organic discovery.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in SEO strategy and execution, with exposure to GEO or semantic search optimization.
- Deep expertise in on-site, off-site, technical, and content SEO.
- Proficiency with SEO tools (BrightEdge, Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Moz) and analytics platforms (GA4, GTM).
- Experience with structured data, entity optimization, and generative search techniques.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS platforms (Magento preferred).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate complex SEO/GEO concepts clearly.
- Skilled in building and presenting data-driven insights via dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio).
