Description
The Social & Digital Media Specialist is responsible for managing and enhancing the association’s social media presence across all platforms. This includes creating and scheduling content, monitoring engagement, analyzing performance metrics, and executing social media campaigns that align with organizational goals. The role supports marketing initiatives, membership engagement, and brand awareness through social media strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the association’s social media strategy across all platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and others as relevant.
- Create, schedule, and distribute engaging social media content that aligns with marketing campaigns, membership initiatives, and organizational goals.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and posts on company accounts in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns, events, and communications efforts through social media.
- Analyze social media performance metrics and prepare regular reports to evaluate engagement, reach, and effectiveness.
- Stay up-to-date on social media trends, platform changes, and best practices to ensure the association’s presence remains current and effective.
- Research competitor social media activity and provide insights for content development and strategy improvement.
- Support digital marketing campaigns by providing social media expertise and executing paid social advertising when needed.
- Assist in maintaining brand consistency across social media channels.
- Work with board committees to learn about and share current trends and content
- Work with social influencers where appropriate to forward the goals of NALA
- Support the development and delivery of e-newsletters and eblasts
Additional Duties
- Participate in special projects and campaigns as assigned.
- Provide support for other marketing initiatives as needed.
Working Relationships and Scope
- Reports directly to the Marketing Coordinator.
- Works closely with all divisions to advise on social media strategy and support marketing initiatives.
- Works with various NALA board committees to create and distribute new social media content.
- Does not supervise others.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer) and analytics tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Experience in video filming techniques and editing software (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro)
- Experience with digital photography and photo editing software (preferably Adobe Photoshop)
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based work with normal office risks.
- Standard workweek is Monday through Friday, approximately 37.5 hours per week.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required for events or campaigns.
- Limited travel may be required.
