Description

Job Purpose

The main roles for the Policy and Strategic Engagement Manager will be:

  • To engage with a number of our Strategic Partner members to build on and retain membership and provide advice and guidance to the other NSAN Client Relationship Managers on policy and strategic developments to support engagement with their members.
  • To lead the development and continued growth of the Knowledge Hub and Special Interest Groups; actively encourage discussion, engagement, and knowledge share of NSAN Members on our Membership Portal.
  • This includes the research of and the sharing of data, information and intelligence that resides within the business, the team and external to the business; providing the necessary mechanisms to engage the members working with the wider team as required.


Requirements

Strategic Client Engagement

  • Key Account Manager for a number of our strategic partner members working with them to develop the relationship and to maximise member value aligned to the strategic direction of their business.
  • Support the Client Relationship Team in the growth of membership.

Knowledge Hub and SIGs

  • Oversee the development and creation a “hub of knowledge” within the membership platform, working with the Digital Solutions & Communications Manager and the Business Support Administrator, pulling on both internal and external resources to facilitate this; ensuring that all aspects of the membership engagement pyramid are met, and a dynamic energy (buzz) is created in the system
  • Create regular posts/blogs/forum entries relating to data, information and intelligence researched or in response to member questions on the platform.
  • Create an ambassador network and encourage them to contribute to online discussions with thought provoking articles/blogs/post etc.
    • Manage key knowledge share/thought Leadership events as required.
  • Supply information and/or reports to the SMT on key themes for NSAN to take forwards to provide further Thought Leadership for the sector on key priority areas.
  • To support the comms manager in the promotion of member communications/campaigns/events/market research through member engagement and through social media.
  • Work with the Digital Solutions & Communications Manager and Digital Marketing Officer to ensure any external communications required relating to hub activity is adequately planned and managed.

Skills Policy

  • Keep abreast of skills policy to inform the business of the required response in terms of client engagement and methods of engagement, for example, through the Knowledge Hub, SiGs, VoSC, Regional Meetings etc.
  • Provide data, information, and intelligence to members through researching key themes and best practice to provoke discussion and Thought Leadership amongst members, for example, Government Policy, Key Industrial Strategies and Developments, Skills Policy, STEM, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Best Practice, HR, and L&D etc.

Key Success Areas

  • Maintain a high level of member discussion and engagement which will ultimately be measured through retention and satisfaction together with annual value assessment.
  • Positive case studies from new and existing clients.
  • A thriving hub that becomes a valuable asset to our membership.

General

  • To attend and contribute to regular team and operations team meetings with the client relationship team; preparing the necessary information requested to evidence engagement.
  • Represent NSAN in an appropriate manner at all times when dealing with suppliers, clients, customers, and colleagues.
  • Ensure effective communication is achieved at all levels and in particular at team and individual level.
  • Undergo any necessary on-the-job training required to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be able to perform to the standard required.
  • Undertake any other task as may be reasonably required by NSAN, including ad-hoc project work.
  • This role will involve travel across the UK and driving will be essential due to the nature of the sector.
