About UNSW:

Ranked among the top 50 universities globally, we attract the highest potential students from Australia and around the world. Our researchers tackle the biggest economic, business, and social challenges with partners across the globe.

If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged, and do meaningful work, you’re in the right place.

Why Your Role Matters:

Australia’s leading Business School is seeking world-class educators from across academia and industry to help transform our Business Curriculum to provide exceptional learning experiences for students, create inclusive student learning communities and make a difference in society.

We are looking for innovative and creative educators to be appointed to 22 newly-established Education Focussed (EF) roles. Successful appointees will join existing EF academics who specialise and devote themselves to delivering outstanding teaching and pursuing initiatives to transform the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed into these prestigious roles will help to lead educational excellence within the Business School’s teaching and learning communities.

This initiative will take the experience of our students to the next level, drawing on existing expertise to further enhance teaching and make an impact “on the ground”.

About You:

You will bring an education mindset, together with industry and professional experience to the role. You will know how to seamlessly deploy educational technologies to deliver superior online, blended, and on-campus experiences for our students across all our programs: undergraduate and postgraduate.

We are looking EF educators in the following areas:

  • Business communication
  • FinTech and Finance
  • Indigenous business
  • Business advising and tax practice
  • Risk Management, Actuarial Data Analytics
  • Econometrics and business data science
  • Sustainability, environment, social and governance (ESG), responsible management
  • Data analytics, cybersecurity and technology management
  • International business
  • Leadership, strategy and innovation
  • Business law and regulation
  • Digital marketing and business

We are also open to discussing our needs in other areas of Business education.

You are interested in working with some of the brightest students in the country, who might be challenging industry and business to do better in environmental, social and governance performance, advancing our tax and business advisory clinic, or shaping our learning platforms and online student experience. You will have demonstrated expertise in online/blended and experiential pedagogies and/or work-integrated learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Business School in its ambition to transform teaching by working collaboratively across disciplinary areas and with School-wide teams engaged in redesigning courses and programs.
  • Demonstrate and continuously develop a well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning and contributes to the University’s education community of practice.
  • Conduct classes, assess student learning achievements, and support students in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in line with UNSW policy.
  • Design and develop inclusive learning activities and resources, and assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments including team-based and transdisciplinary approaches.
  • Initiate the development of experimental approaches to teaching and learning using technology and with the support of more experienced academics.
