Description

Senior Digital Marketing Manager (Grade Level 14)

Reports to:   VP Corporate Communications

Classification: Exempt 

Anticipated Hiring Range: $77,000.00 to $85,000.00

Purpose

The Senior Digital Marketing Manager develops and executes NCBiotech’s digital marketing and communications strategy, aligning with the organization’s communications goals. This includes building the North Carolina life sciences and NCBiotech brands through engaging content and generating leads for recruiting life sciences companies to North Carolina and for workforce development initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibility (If Applicable)

N/A (may occasionally supervise interns for periods of 6-9 weeks at a time.)



Requirements

Essential Duties

Develops and executes a digital strategy for NCBiotech’s website, creating brand awareness for North Carolina life sciences and NCBiotech’s mission and programs; uses analytics to continually optimize the NCBiotech website; works with NCBiotech’s partners to optimize Bio Jobs Hub and NCBioImpact websites; reports results to Corp Comm team

Plans, executes, and optimizes (paid and owned) digital campaigns in HubSpot to generate leads for economic development and workforce development initiatives; creates lead nurturing campaigns using automated email workflows to support company recruitment efforts in targeted life sciences sectors 

Conducts social media listening and audits, uses insights to broaden reach and deepen engagement across all social media channels as well as track social media of competitive life sciences hubs; reviews and refines weekly social media posts prepared by Marketing Specialist 

Ensures consistent branding and messaging for all digital communications across all of NCBiotech’s business units; reviews and approves all outgoing marketing emails, newsletter, and website edits

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Google Analytics and HubSpot analytics to optimize websites 
  • Experience using HubSpot Marketing module, including email automation workflows, paid ads campaigns, and creating landing pages
  • Experience using analytics to optimize digital content across website and multiple social channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Excellent writing skills 
  • Ability to write for a variety of formats (e.g., websites, email marketing, social media posts) and with consistent with the NCBiotech brand with guidance from the Corp Comm team
  • Proficient in using a website content management system
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms and adhere to AP style. Attention to detail is essential for this role.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and effectively manage a variety of tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with NCBiotech employees and to work as a team member 
  • Knowledge of life sciences, economic development, and workforce development 

 Education and Experience Requirements

 Required

  • Minimum: A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related degree with 6-8 years of experience work in a fast-paced office environment, preferably in a public relations office, corporate communications, or marketing agency or an associate degree with 12 years of related work experience, is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in digital marketing, with proven success in using analytics to execute and optimize digital content and campaigns
  • Proficiency with HubSpot, content management systems, Google Analytics, Teams, Microsoft Office, and Smartsheet are required.

Preferred

  • Life science, economic development, and/or workforce development experience is helpful.
  • Simple video editing and photography skills are a plus.
