The corporate director of strategic marketing is responsible for shaping and leading the implementation of the system’s marketing strategy and plans to grow our market and brand position in a highly competitive children’s hospital market. This position leads the development of service line market growth plans, brand and content strategy as well as marketing and consumer engagement technologies aimed at strengthening discoverability, connection and relevant and timely access to Dayton Children’s services.  The Corporate Director, Strategic Marketing reports to the Vice President, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
He/She must work collaboratively with administrative and physician service line leadership to develop and promote winning value proposition aimed at meeting consumer’s needs for access and experience all while strengthening affinity for the Dayton Children’s brand. The corporate director oversees the marketing team of service marketing managers, physician relations, social media and content professionals, and marketing and consumer digital engagement technologists. The position is responsible for assuring processes for prioritizing and managing work, assessing market readiness of services, and standardizing the planning and accountability processes.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field. Master’s degree in Business preferred.

Professional Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an established leader in strategic marketing with some experience in marketing for a health system. He/she will have broad-based experience in developing and deploying brand and marketing strategies across multiple markets with a deep understanding of the needs of today’s health care consumers. A proven track record utilizing consumer insights, journey mapping, segmentation, data analytics, direct-to-consumer marketing approaches, CRM tools and well as web and digital platforms is essential for success in this role.

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing strategy development and deployment
Experience must include leadership responsibility for all aspects of marketing with some experience in health care
Some marketing experience outside the health care industry where marketing practices are more mature
Strong knowledge of digital platforms and emerging digital technologies
Working knowledge of CRM systems and direct marketing methods
A strong understanding of needs of health care consumers and the business needs and competitive challenges of the health care industry as well as best practices in marketing and communications across the industry. Also a keen understanding of physician relationships and practice patterns; federal, state rules and regulations.
