Description

SUMMARY

The Chief Brand Officer is responsible for developing brand strategies, promoting brand growth, and expansion, implementing brand plans, and using a variety of data to drive volume and profitability. This role will provide leadership and is responsible for developing and implementing strategic, operational, and tactical marketing, social media, and communications plans for all products, services, publications, public affairs, and website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for creating BRM Institutes overall annual innovative marketing strategies that will build our brand, plus increase awareness, revenue, relevance, and respect among our target audience across all BRM Institute marketing channels
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement comprehensive marketing and sales strategies and programs with quantifiable objectives to measure results
  • Design and improve upon marketing campaigns for each aspect of BRM Institute
  • Lead the creation/production of inspiring design, content and campaigns that builds the brand and drives revenue
  • Develop and execute innovative marketing plans for advertising, public relations, social media, events and conferences
  • Build brand management and awareness so that BRM Institute is seen as the leader in our field
    • Rally BRM Institute’s stakeholders around the brand
    • Ensure brand standards are maintained across all channels
    • Ensure that the brand is strong and consistent in every marketing tactic, and that BRM Institute’s story is communicated with creativity and impact
    • Brand Building and Story Telling – Continue to develop and strengthen BRM Institute’s unique and compelling voice to build brand awareness, relevance, reputation, and esteem among target audiences
    • Find new innovative ways to connect with new target audiences and existing customer base
    • Forge advantageous partnerships with affiliate companies
    • Drive SEO and website optimization
    • Create and propagate an enthusiastic brand message that will resonate with our target demographic
    • Develop, write, and produce communication vehicles directed to members
    • Coordinate mass mailings to members and other constituents; identify cross-marketing opportunities
    • Design organizational branding through promotional materials and activities with direction of integrated marketing and media functions in support of association initiatives, products, and services
    • Conduct customer, brand and product research initiatives
  • Develop segmentation, competitive analysis/market intelligence, prospecting, lead generation, product and market development, pricing, promotions, communications and budgets, sales force effectiveness, strategic planning, services units and revenue retention and growth
  • Analyze changing market dynamics, then translate them into actionable strategies to achieve company objectives
  • Responsible for BRM Institute social media
    • Create, update and oversee social media marketing strategy and platforms
    • Set and achieve strategic goals related to social media metrics and marketing campaign initiatives
    • Lead communications team to create a best-in-class social media presence that empowers stakeholders to spread the BRM Institute brand virally
    • Perform/schedule Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn updates
    • Managing Google Ads/Analytics
  • Responsible for Website maintenance
    • Develop and maintain BRM Institute website, regularly reviewing information, producing, and managing valuable content, and assessing needed updates and edits with a focus on the user experience and user engagement
    • Management of web site functionality, editorial design and maintenance, ensuring website is user friendly, and content remains relevant, critical, and timely
    • Plan and develop future changes/updates for website and member portal
    • Evaluate and enhance SEO to own key search terms and drive traffic to the site
    • Perform risk mitigation
    • Review, monitor and report monthly statistics and analytics; examine and analyze site traffic
    • Track performance, tweak design, copy, imagery and targeting depending on user experience, external requirements, and targeted outcomes
    • Leverage data and analytics to drive insights
  • Manage Marketing daily/weekly/yearly operations
    • Develop and monitor marketing timelines
    • Originate and implement marketing plans, including promotional calendars and programs, new product introductions, and other marketing projects
    • Follow up daily revenue reports, social media strategies and other operational components needed to run the Marketing team
    • Facilitate growth, support sales, marketing strategies and lead generation efforts
    • Assist and participate in onsite operations of BRM Institute meetings and Events when required
    • Responsible for executing and overseeing marketing emails along with providing analytical reviews.
    • Work and coordinate with various design and print vendors from concept through execution
    • Manage marketing resources, including employees, contractors, and volunteers
      • This would include supervising the marketing team as it grows, including hiring, training, workloads, schedules and deadlines
    • Negotiate compensation and project details for outside contractors related to marketing of the marketing program
    • Manage utilities (software, accounts, etc.)
    • Manage technical aspects of key marketing systems (marketing automation, CRM) used to generate, distribute, and report on leads
    • Evaluating new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize marketing team performance
  • In collaboration with the Chief Membership Officer
    • Develop, implement, and maintain effective marketing strategies and promotional campaigns for BRM Institute both membership recruitment and retention
    • Develop, implement, and maintain marketing campaigns directed at renewing lapsed and expired members
    • Develop, implement, and maintain orientation communications for new members, working to increase member engagement, as well as improve and make content more audience-specific by identifying which programs/services appeal to which markets/regions/demographics
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to increase member awareness of the association’s benefits, educational/certification programs as well as increase engagement in BRM Institute activities and events/experiences
    • Develop strategic communications initiatives that advance the Institute’s mission, including oversight of writing, developing and editing communication plans, press releases, articles, promotional copy, and other materials that articulate BRM Institute’s positions, policies and activities


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) 

  • Thorough knowledge of marketing and branding principles
  • Strong working knowledge of print and digital marketing channels
  • Understand all aspects of development and implementation of social media plans
  • Understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategies to achieve company objectives.
  • Knowledge of multiple social media platforms
  • Practical, managerial knowledge of website best practice, design, and functionality
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, proofreading, attention to detail and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with and lead co-workers and contractors
  • Ability to work with and lead volunteers
  • Ability to develop and adhere to timelines
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in WordPress and Higher Logic

EDUCATION

  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+years extensive experience in sales, marketing, advertising, and brand management
  • Management level experience in digital marketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, various marketing software and web analytics
  • Previous similar industry experience preferred
  • Worked in fast paced, collaborative environment
